Health Benefits Of Sarivadyasava

Augments Skin Health

Endowed with antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, Ayurveda acknowledges Sarivadyasava as a well-known one-step remedy for various skin conditions. Owing to its blood purifying traits which help in removing toxins from the blood, it extensively helps in dealing with a plethora of skin infections as well.

Urticaria a.k.a Sheetapitta in Ayurveda is primarily a type of allergic reaction caused due to an imbalance of the Vata and Kapha Doshas and is mainly characterised by raised, itchy rash that appears on the skin. The powerful Vata-Kapha balancing and Shodhan (detoxification) disposition of Sarivadyasava provides intense relief in the case of Urticaria.

Acne is a common skin ail that occurs when oil glands on the skin get plugged with sebum and dead skin cells. It leads to the formation of pimples that cultivate deep in the skin, resulting in red, swollen, and painful bumps. According to Ayurveda, Acne is commonly seen in the Kapha-Pittaj skin type. Aggravation of Kapha doshas steers to increased production of sebum and clogged pores resulting in the formation of both white and blackheads. Similarly, an imbalance of Pitta doshas is marked by the appearance of some red papules (bumps) and inflammation with pus.

Regulates Diabetes

Diabetes is commonly referred to as Madhumeha in Ayurveda and mainly occurs due to doshic imbalances. It usually arises in two ways; either vitiation of the Vata dosha due to tissue depletion and/or obstruction of the various channels (srotas) in the body caused due to excess kapha dosha and fatty tissue. Owing to the presence of numerous beneficial herbs, Sarivadyasava is an excellent herbal medicine for managing high sugar levels by improving the metabolism due to its Kapha-Pitta balancing doshas and Tikta (bitter) and Kashaya (astringent) traits. The terrific anti-glycemic nature of the herbs in this decoction plays a quintessential role in ameliorating the blood sugar levels of the body. Intake of this medicine activates the pancreas and enables the secretion of a balanced amount of insulin and also regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates. This action readily assists the extra glucose circulating in the blood to get recycled into glycogen which in turn curtails sudden spikes in the blood sugar level. It also helps diabetic patients to retain control over their blood glucose levels naturally.

A urinary tract infection (UTI), termed Mutrakrichha in Ayurveda is a type of infection where ‘Mutra’ stands for ‘ooze’ and ‘krichra’ implies ‘pain’. Thus, medically dysuria and painful urination signify Mutrakriccha. This condition may influence any part of the urinary system; right from the kidneys, ureters, bladder, to the urethra. Sarivadyasava blessed with dominant anti-inflammatory and diuretic traits is one of the most useful Ayurvedic medicines suggested for urinary disorders.  In case of urinary tract infection, Sarivadyasava recedes the symptoms of UTI, like a burning sensation during urination due to its Pitta normalising property.

It also provides a strong remedy for treating urinary disorders like urinary incontinence, painful micturition and burning sensation while urinating. It improves the production of urine by breaking the stones in the urinary tract and thus provides solace from painful urination. Comprising diuretic or Mutral herbs, Sarivadyasava also remedies dysuria. The wealth of anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties treat different types of urinary infections.

Remedies Gouty Arthritis

Medically, Gouty arthritis is a type of inflammatory arthritis which is chiefly depicted by an accumulation of uric acid crystals in the various joints. It is usually anticipated by severe attacks of pain, discomfort, swelling, inflammation,  redness, and tenderness in one or more joints. Ayurveda defines Gout as Vatarakta as it usually arises due to the imbalance of Vata Doshas and its effect (prabhab) falls on the Rakta Dhatu (blood tissue). The presence of Lekhaniya and Mutral disposition of this formulation extensively helps to eliminate the uric acid crystals from the joints thus providing extensive relief from gouty arthritis.
