What Is Bitter Chocolate?
Just like any other chocolate, bitter chocolate is a type of chocolate with cocoa as its key ingredient. Made from the seeds of the cacao tree, bitter chocolate is rich, but the bitter-tasting chocolate version is made from a processed form of cocoa solids, and cocoa butter. Mostly, all bitter chocolates have about 70 to 90 per cent cocoa solids and few other essential ingredients. While dark chocolate is a form of chocolate containing cocoa solids and cocoa butter and of course sugar, the unsweetened version of dark chocolate (with no sugar at all) is termed bitter chocolate.
