Rose Pistachio Coconut Ladoo

Ingredients

For 12-15 Ladoos

  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp rose syrup (like Rooh Afza or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachios
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • A few drops of rose water
  • A pinch of pink food colour (optional)

For the Garnish:

  • 50g white chocolate (melted)
  • Dried rose petals
  • Chopped pistachios
  • Toasted coconut

Method:

  • Heat the ghee in a pan
  • Add desiccated coconut and lightly toast it for about three to four minutes on a low flame. Make sure you do not brown it
  • Add condensed milk and rose syrup to the toasted coconut
  • Stir continuously until the mixture thickens
  • Add chopped pistachios, rose water, cardamom powder, and food colour
  • Mix well and when a little warm, grease your hands and roll into small round Ladoos
  • Melt white chocolate in the microwave. You can also use a double boiler
  • Drizzle over the Ladoos using a spoon
  • Garnish with dried rose petals
  • For a nuttier version, add a mix of almonds and cashews too
  • You can stuff each Ladoo with a single whole pistachio or a dried cranberry for a surprise centre
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in a cool place
