Essential Oils For Muscle Soreness
Essential oils and oil blends work amazingly well when applied topically to soothe pain in the muscles and calm the body in the process. These oils are strong, so if they are not used correctly, they can irritate the skin and add to swelling. Essential oils must be diluted with a carrier oil before application to ease skin irritation.
The general rule of thumb is to blend at least 6 teaspoons of carrier oil for every 15 drops of essential oil. Some of the carrier oils that can be used include coconut oil, olive oil and argan oil.
How To Use Essential Oils?
Roll on Pre/Post Workout
Get a roll-on bottle, add 15 drops of essential oils using a medicine dropper and fill the remaining of the bottle with a carrier oil. Firmly press the roller ball top onto the bottle and roll the bottle between the hands for 30 seconds and ensure both oils blend well. Apply on aching muscles before or after a workout to get relieved from muscle soreness.
Use It For A Massage
Apply the essential oil topically and massage well, so that oils diffuse deep into the skin to ease pain, swelling and tension.
Relaxing Bath
