The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has kept most people cooped up indoors for pretty much all day and this has lead to many donning on their aprons and chef’s hats, to prep something or the other on a daily basis.
And while staple desi dishes involving rice, rotis, dal and curries still rule the roost in most Indian kitchens, one international food trend that has caught the fancy of several people, young and old alike, is Dalgona coffee.
Named after a popular Korean candy, dalgona coffee bears a striking resemblance to the toffee in taste and appearance but does not actually contain the packaged sweet. Dalgona coffee is a current fad amongst many, as quarantine and self-isolation measures have invariably resulted in boredom and lethargy and this lip-smacking beverage with a fluffy, velvety texture works wonders in uplifting mood and productivity.
