XYLOSON NASAL DROPS is used to provide relief from nasal congestion caused due to common cold, sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses) or allergic rhinitis (an allergic condition) in children aged between 2-12 years. It contains a medicine called xylometazoline which works by thinning the mucus present in the nasal tract
Always use XYLOSON NASAL DROPS as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Do not use XYLOSON NASAL DROPS for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor.
Before using XYLOSON NASAL DROPS inform your doctor if you have diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, or any heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have any other problems in nasal tract apart from nasal congestion such as chronic nasal inflammation with very dry nasal passages (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).
The most common side effects of using XYLOSON NASAL DROPS are irritation or burning sensation after application and nasal dryness. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
XYLOSON NASAL DROPS opens and clears the nasal passages. It works by narrowing down the blood vessels supplying the nasal passage. This helps swollen blood vessels of the nasal tract to return to its normal size which allows the air to pass through the nostrils more freely. It also reduces excessive nasal secretions and provides temporary relief from nasal inflammation, swelling and discomfort.
Always use XYLOSON NASAL DROPS as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only.
For Nasal Drops: Gently instill few drops of this medicine into each nostril. Clean the dropper after application.
For Nasal Spray: Insert the spray nozzle inside the affected nostril. Press the pump to release the spray and sniff at the same time. Repeat the same to the other nostril if required. Clean the nozzle after application.
To avoid possible spread of infection, this pack should only be used by a single person. Do not use XYLOSON NASAL DROPS for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor. Discard the unused portion after 28 days of opening it.
Stop using XYLOSON NASAL DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Take XYLOSON NASAL DROPS with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.
Do not drive or operate any tools or machines if your ability is affected by XYLOSON NASAL DROPS.
Do not use XYLOSON NASAL DROPS if you are allergic to Xylometazoline or to any other ingredients of this medicine.
XYLOSON NASAL DROPS should be used with caution in patients with heart disease (such as hypertension, prolonged QT syndrome). Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
XYLOSON NASAL DROPS can be used in children and adolescents aged 12 years or above. You must consult your doctor before using XYLOSON NASAL DROPS if your child is aged 6 years or above. It is not recommended for use in children aged below 6 years. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before administration
