WIKORYL TABLET is a combination of Chlorpheniramine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines, Analgesics and Nasal decongestants respectively. It is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever, common cold or other upper respiratory allergies, like headache, facial congestion and pressure, nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, minor aches and pains, itching of the nose, throat or eyes and watery eyes. It can also be used to clear nasal passages and decongest facial openings and passages.
Hay fever is a seasonal allergy that occurs in response to specific allergens like pollens, present at certain times of the year (spring or fall) and causes more short-term symptoms.
WIKORYL TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged less than 12 years). Consult your doctor before giving this medicine to your child.
Before taking WIKORYL TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, heart, thyroid or lung problems, diabetes or glaucoma.
WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women, so consult your doctor before taking it.
The most common side effects of taking WIKORYL TABLET are dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, nose or throat, headache, nausea, nervousness and difficulty in sleeping. Contact your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen.
It is used to:
WIKORYL TABLET relieves upper respiratory symptoms where Chlorpheniramine binds to the histamine H1 receptor and blocks its action, resulting in temporary relief of the negative symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, watery and itchy eyes) brought on by histamine, where Paracetamol relieves pain by elevation of the pain threshold and reduces fever by acting on the on the heat-regulating centre in your brain and Phenylephrine constricts blood vessels and reduces the blood flow to certain areas, thus decreasing swelling and allowing nasal and respiratory passages to open up.
Take WIKORYL TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.
For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow WIKORYL TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the medicine immediately after reconstitution.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection.
Stop taking WIKORYL TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea:
Take WIKORYL TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods.
Headache:
Drink ample amount of water. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Ask your doctor before taking any medicine for headache.
Dizziness:
Lie down until dizziness is gone, then get up slowly. Move slowly and carefully, do not hurry. Get adequate rest. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. Avoid coffee, cigarettes, alcohol and drugs.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller meals more frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Consult your doctor if stomach pain doesn't improve.
WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or use any machines if you feel drowsy or dizzy after taking WIKORYL TABLET.
Avoid consumption of alcohol with WIKORYL TABLET as it may affect you more than usual. WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in patients with alcohol dependence.
WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in patients having kidney problems, trouble urinating or urinary blockage. Consult your doctor before taking it.
WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver problems and viral hepatitis. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not take WIKORYL TABLET if you are allergic to Chlorpheniramine, Paracetamol, Phenylephrine or any other ingredients of this medicine.
WIKORYL TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with breathing problems like emphysema or chronic bronchitis. WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in patients with other breathing problems like asthma. Consult your doctor before taking it.
WIKORYL TABLET is not recommended in patients with heart disease or high blood pressure. WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in patients with other heart diseases. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Can WIKORYL TABLET be crushed?
No. Do not break, crush or chew WIKORYL TABLET. Simply swallow it whole with a glass of water. Consult your doctor for advice.
Can I stop taking WIKORYL TABLET?
Do not stop taking WIKORYL TABLET without consulting your doctor. You can do it if you experience any serious side effects with your doctor’s consultation. If you have any more doubts regarding the use of this medicine, ask your doctor.
Can WIKORYL TABLET cause dizziness?

What precautions do I need to follow while taking WIKORYL TABLET?
Patients taking WIKORYL TABLET must inform their doctor about their pre-existing disease conditions like kidney, liver, heart, thyroid or lung problems, diabetes or glaucoma. Contact your doctor if you have any unusual symptoms.
Can WIKORYL TABLET be taken in pregnancy?
WIKORYL TABLET should be used with caution in pregnancy as it is not known if it can harm the unborn baby. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to get pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
