INTRODUCTION ABOUT T BACT OINTMENT

T-bact Ointment is a topical antibiotic used to manage certain skin infections. It may also be used to manage bacterial attack and infection of small cuts, wounds and abrasions. It contains mupirocin as an active ingredient that possesses antibacterial properties.

Mupirocin works by inhibiting the synthesis of protein found in the cell wall of bacteria thereby inhibiting the action of causative bacteria. It inhibits the growth of bacteria in lower concentration (bacteriostatic property) whereas at higher concentration, it kills the infecting bacteria (bactericidal property).

Always use T-bact Ointment as advised by your physician. It is not suitable for use in eyes and nose, in conjunction with cannulae (tube inserted in the body) and at the site of central venous cannulation. Avoid contact with eyes.
