Soframycin Skin Cream is an Antibiotic cream which is used for the management of scalds, Burns, wounds, ulcers, boils, impetigo (skin infection), furunculosis (infection of hair follicles), sycosis barbae (shaving bumps- inflammation of skin due to ingrown hair or hair removal), otitis externa (inflammation of external ear canal), paronychia (nail infection) and secondary infections in scabies and lice. It contains Framycetin as an active ingredient which is an Antibiotic Agent.
Framycetin acts as an Antibacterial agent which interferes with important life processes of bacteria. It inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria and disrupts the cell membrane of bacteria and, hence killing the bacteria.
Use Soframycin Skin Cream as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply two to three times daily on the affected area. Avoid applying Soframycin Skin Cream in perforated tympanic membrane (ear drum) and it should be used with caution in patients with kidney and liver problems. It should be used with caution in pregnant women, children and infants.
