MUCOLITE TABLET is used to manage acute and chronic disease of the respiratory tract associated with abnormal bronchial secretions in particular acute attacks of chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, bronchial asthma. It contains Ambroxol which belongs to the group of medicines called Antitussive agents. MUCOLITE TABLET works by thinning down the mucus in the airway passages, thus making the mucus less sticky and it also facilitates the removal of the mucus from the airways.
MUCOLITE TABLET is not recommended for hereditary galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency (enzyme to digest lactose) or problems with galactose absorption. MUCOLITE TABLET should be used with caution if you have a predilection for the development of peptic ulcers, severe skin reactions have been reported in connection with the administration of ambroxol and gastric ulceration. MUCOLITE TABLET can cross the placental barrier. Usual precautions should be taken when using the medicine during pregnancy. Above all, using this medicine is not recommended during the first trimester. MUCOLITE TABLET is secreted into breast milk. Even though no adverse effects on the breast-fed baby are expected, breast-feeding mothers are not advised to use MUCOLITE TABLET.
The most common side effects of taking MUCOLITE TABLET are changes in sense of taste, numbness in throat, nausea or numbness in the mouth. If any of these symptoms worsen, contact your doctor immediately.

A: Yes, you may take MUCOLITE TABLET with antibiotics such as erythromycin, amoxicillin, doxycycline and cefuroxime as it may increase the concentration of antibiotics in the formed mucus in airways. However, you are recommended to consult a doctor before using MUCOLITE TABLET with antibiotics or any other medicines.
A: MUCOLITE TABLET may relieve sore throat pain, but it's not the first-line treatment. Talk to your doctor for better options.
