Lichensa Ointment has antifungal properties which is used for the management of cracked heels, jock itch (dhobi’s rash), diaper rash, napkin rash, boils, bedsores, and fungal infections between fingers and toes. It contains Boric Acid, Clotrimazole, Menthol, and Zinc oxide as active ingredients which destroy the infection-causing microorganism and helps in the healing of the skin.
Cotrimazole and Boric acid act by inhibiting and arresting the growth of the fungus by altering its cell membrane permeability. Menthol acts as a counterirritant by imparting a cooling effect and by stimulating the nociceptors initially and then desensitizing them. Zinc oxide provides a physical barrier to manage skin irritation and help heal damaged skin.
