Daily Iron Tablet is an iron supplement used to manage nutritional deficiency anaemia related to iron and folic acid, and anaemia in pregnancy and lactation. It contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid as active ingredients which help to increase the iron absorption in the body.
Ferrous ascorbate form of iron is more readily absorbed and adequate amounts of iron are necessary for effective red blood cell formation. Folic acid is required for synthesis of nucleoprotein, purine nucleotides and the metabolism of some amino acids, normal growth and cell reproduction, and stimulates the formation of red blood cells.
Before taking Daily Iron Tablet, inform your doctor if you have porphyria cutanea tarda (rare skin problem), haemochromatosis and hemosiderosis (excessive iron deposition), haemolytic anaemia (red blood cells are destroyed faster than they are made). It should be used with caution in patients having kidney, intestinal, liver or peptic ulcer disease, or if you consume excessive alcohol. Take this tablet as advised by your doctor and do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Daily Iron Tablet may cause constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, dark stools and stomach pain. Consult your doctor if you notice any such side effects while taking Daily Iron Tablet.
