INTRODUCTION ABOUT BETADINE OINTMENT

Betadine Ointment is a topical antiseptic which is used in the management of common skin conditions such as infections of the skin around nails and management of infections in minor burns, cuts and abrasions. It contains povidone-iodine as an active ingredient which is active against a wide variety of pathogens.

Povidone-iodine works by penetrating the cell wall of microorganisms by disrupting their proteins and nucleic acid structure and synthesis. Thus, it deactivates the function of microorganisms, manages infection and helps for faster healing.
