Walking is a natural exercise which can be done by all individuals on a daily basis. It is beneficial to the body, both physically and mentally. Walking has many benefits such as, it maintains a proper blood circulation, controls the blood glucose levels, maintains mood, strengthens the muscles, joints, etc.

The study was conducted on 47 individuals on a tread mill and their blood samples were collected before and after the exercise. It showed that with 20 minutes of exercise each day, there was 5% decrease in the number of immune cells that produces tumour necrosis factor (TNF) cells in the body. These TNF cells are responsible for the body's inflammatory response.

Epinephrine and norepinephrine are the two hormones produced in the body which activate beta-2 adrenergic receptors. These receptors are present on all the cells including the immune cells which are responsible for maintaining the body's response to inflammation.

Hence, walking everyday for atleast 20minutes to half an hour can reduce the risk of chronic inflammatory disease in people and increases the immune response.
