Irritable bowel syndrome is a common disorder that affects the large intestine. It is often characterized by cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, weight loss, regurgitation, constipation, diarrhea or both. There are four types of bowel irregularity, which includes IBS with constipation (IBS-C), IBS with diarrhea (IBS-D), and sometimes an alternating pattern of both constipation and diarrhea which mixed IBS (IBS-M). And, people not falling under any of these above mentioned categories fall under un subtyped IBS (IBS-U). Unhealthy food habits, poor lifestyle choices and stress can trigger IBS.
