Stye is a painful eye condition which causes a red lump on the edge of upper or lower eyelids. It may appear like a pimple or a boil and is often filled with pus and it occurs due to the infection of oil glands in the eyelid.
In most cases, stye occurs outside the eyelid, but in few, it may appear on the inner part of the eyelid. It disappears on its own in a few days, while pain and discomfort can be relieved by placing warm washcloths on the eyelid.
