It was proved once again that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the fittest cricketers after he stretched 2.14 metres to get back into the crease and foiled Peter Handscomb’s attempt to stump him.
The jaw-dropping act was witnessed during the 12th over of India’s innings in the T20 internationals with Australia in Bengaluru on Feb.27.
During the match, Dhoni stepped out of the crease chasing the delivery bowled by Adam Zampa. However, the ball went wide off the stump.
When Peter Handscomb caught the ball and was about to stump Dhoni, the quick minded ace wicket-keeper and batsman avoided getting stumped by exhibiting remarkable gymnast-like flexibility by stretching his legs by 2.14 metres making it into the crease in time.
And Voila! Dhoni’s fitness, flexibility and presence of mind at the crease sent the crowd into tizzy. Mahi also scored his 50th sixes in the T20 internationals in the same match.
Dhoni’s performance at the match became talk of the tweeples’ and BCCI too couldn’t hold its excitement.
BCCI tweeted, How’s that for a stretch from @msdhoni with emojis of faces with open mouths.
While, another twitter user commented, Some common examples of elastic materials: Rubber, Dhoni #Dhoni.
Mahi has always been an inspiration to the entire nation and he will continue to do so.
