Actress Mandira Bedi is a fitness enthusiast, marathon runner and a foodie all packed into one! At 45, Mandira is currently training to participate in a Duracell Durathon- a family marathon to be held on November 25 at Jio Gardens, BKC, Mumbai.
She along with her seven-year-old son Vir Kaushal will participate in both 2 km and 5 km family run is quite excited about it.
"It's a great initiative to bring in families together for a marathon. I totally relate with the concept as I'm a fitness enthusiast. It's a special platform for families to bond over fitness thereby improving their health and increasing the quality time spent with family," Mandira said in a statement.
The actress added that she and her son Vir participated in last year’s marathon and are looking forward to running in this edition.
Mandira took up fitness seriously after participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2008. She workouts for 5 days a week and her daily regimen includes cardio, besides swimming and running.
While on travel the Shanti actress sweats out in her hotel room by doing squats, jumping jacks, resistance bands, skipping ropes and goes for running.
A vegetarian, Mandira Bedi believes in eating homemade food and keeps it simple. Her menu includes a banana before workout, dal, sabzi, roti for lunch and a salad for dinner. She occasionally eats eggs.
However, she confesses about her sweet tooth. “I crave for chocolates! Weekends are my cheat days and I binge on desserts, cakes and pastries.”
Her health mantra? “Don’t starve, eat clean. Set small goals and work towards achieving them. Learn about the kind of food that your body needs for nourishing. Stick to a diet. After all, you are all about what you eat! (IANS)
