Excessive sweating is of two types i.e. Primary hyperhidrosis that causes excessive sweating with no underlying medical cause and secondary hyperhidrosis which is caused by anxiety, diabetes, gout, alcohol abuse, heart disease, obesity, spinal cord injury, etc.
Studies have also shown that certain genes play a role in condition with excessive sweating, making it look more likely that it could be inherited. Excessive sweating can occur at least once a week for no clear reason. Also affects the social life or daily activities of the individual. Excessive sweating is associated with many cardiac and blood related diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, heart attacks and other similar diseases.
Signs and symptoms of hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating include palms of the hands becomes wet and clammy and soles of the feet becoming wet and clammy. Frequent sweating is accompanied by irritating and painful skin problems, such as fungal or bacterial infections. Worrying about having stained clothing is another symptom, along with worrying more about other people, and irritations from body odor are symptoms of Excessive sweating. Reluctant to make physical contact, increased self-conscious and socially withdrawn are other common symptoms of hyperhidrosis. Excessive sweating may also lead to depression. Individual with excessive sweating spends a lot of time each day dealing with sweat, such as changing clothes, wiping, placing napkins or pads under the arms, washing, wearing dark clothes and others.
Although sweating and excessive sweating is caused by various factors and some may even consider it good, anything in excess is bad, so it is recommended that one must visit the doctor to understand its conditions.
